Sick and Indigent Roomkeepers

The Sick & Indigent Roomkeepers Society

The Sick & Indigent Roomkeepers’ Society was set up in 1790 to relieve the poverty that existed for many Dubliners at that time. When the Society moved out to its present location in Lower Leeson Street, the building was bought by Peter Pearson an artist and architectural historian. Peter, myself and a number of very able and willing helpers renovated this beautiful building in Palace Street where Peter and his family lived.
